I am Passionate about music in primary schools and supporting schools to develop and improve their curriculum and music provision.

Music has been central to my life since a small child. It started early on in primary school with a teacher who made it fun, noisy and physical... I was in a small primary school that saw the value and benefits of music. I had found what made me happy and I want that for every child, not just the few. And where does this start for the majority of children? In our primary schools with their class teachers and their curriculum provision. Yet many teachers feel they lack the skills, the knowledge or expertise to deliver the National Curriculum or Model Music Curriculum, and definitely fear 'getting it wrong'. I believe this need not be the case, and through collaborative ongoing support this can change. This is my driving force.

I Graduated from Cambridge University in 1993 with a B.Ed (hons) having been fully involved in the music scene at Cambridge as a cellist and singer (choral and chapel). I was also a founder member of Pandemonium Steel Band.

I headed off into the big wide world as a class teacher with music responsibility carrying my desire for a high quality and engaging music education for everyone I taught, and now have thirty years of music teaching experience and knowledge. I have been subject lead, Head of Department, taught on a Fulbright Teacher Exchange Programme in Arizona, USA, through the British Consul exploring the differences in music provision and practise, and then primary music consultancy in both a teaching and 'outreach' support capacity. I have also taught cello as a peripatetic instrumental teacher, First Access strings and beginner strings at Saturday Music School.
